The screen, control by control
Most of Drambo’s buttons are icons, so this map gives each one a name and says what it does. Pick a view, then tap or click any control. The names in capitals are the ones this guide uses for them, such as NAV BAR for the sequence navigation bar.
Pick a control to see what it does.
All 50 controls across the main screen, morph mode, the full-size launcher and a module, with the gestures that aren’t labelled in the app.

The rack editor
The big area at the top shows the rack of whichever track is current. The coloured column at its left edge is the track itself — its output and settings — and the modules follow from left to right in the order the signal flows through them. The + at the end opens the library browser to add another.
At the right edge sit the track’s output knobs, which send it to the Master and the two send tracks to begin with. See Route a track’s audio.
Everything about working with modules — adding, moving, connecting, modulating — is in Modules and racks and the sections after it.

Track pads and the launcher
Under the rack editor is a row of pads, one per track: Main, 1–8, A, B and Master in a new project. Tap one to make that track current. That row is the top edge of the clip launcher — tap the chevron at its right to open the launcher full size, with a row of clips under each track and a column of pattern buttons down the side.
Track pads respond to swipes as well as taps — see Working with track pads — and the launcher has a whole chapter of its own, starting with The launcher and arranger.

The sequencer and its buttons
The row of cells below the track pads is the step sequencer for the current clip. It is visible almost all the time, whatever else you’re doing. Under it is a row of buttons, from left to right:
| Button | What it does |
|---|---|
| PIANO ROLL | Opens the clip in the piano roll. See The piano roll. |
| STEP VALUES | Opens the extended step editors: velocity, gate, offset, probability, retrigger, cycle and components. See The extended step editors. |
| AUTOMATION | Opens the parameter automation editor. See Automation. |
| SELECT | Selection mode: steps stay selected after you let go. See Selection mode. |
| MORPH | Shows the morph controls. See Morphs. |
| LOOP | Loops the bars you’ve selected in the navigation bar. |
| NAV BAR | A map of the whole clip for choosing which bars you’re editing. See The navigation bar. |
| CLIP PROPERTIES | The clip’s length and speed. See Clip length and speed. |
| REC | Recording on or off; with the transport stopped, step entry with auto-advance. See Record live. |
| PLAY | Starts and stops the transport. See Play a song. |
| MUTE | Mute mode for tracks, modules and steps. See Mute and solo. |
| UNDO | Undo, and with a second finger, clear. See UNDO, and clearing things with it. |
The pads and keyboard
The bottom area plays the current track. Each pad is a note and shows its name, and whatever you play last is what a tapped step receives (see Put notes on steps). TRK switches the pads into track mode, which you need when recording several tracks at once (see Record live).
Version 2.57 added on-screen pitch bend and modulation wheels, which you can play and record like knobs. See Pitch bend and mod wheels.

- The docs don’t cover the
PATbutton beside the pads, but forum users describe it as a pattern mode: with it on, the pads switch between whole patterns rather than single clips. via BeepStreet forums: Pattern change with pads question, December 2025

Drambo - Video 2 - Lots Of Cool Stuff To Learn!
Daddy Long Les
The second part of the October 2026 series: a solo and mute tip, extending, duplicating and looping bars, an empty clip to silence a track, more on the INS button, what sits at the right of each track, and the Morph crossfader.
Resize and maximise areas
Drambo shares one screen between four areas, so you’ll often want to give one of them more room. Two chevrons at the right edge do it: one at the end of the track pads, one at the end of the sequencer’s button row.
Gestures & keys
- Tap CHEVRON
- Opens the area it belongs to full size, or shrinks it back.Beside the track pads: the launcher. Beside the sequencer buttons: the pads.
- Drag CHEVRON
- Resizes the area: the rack editor from the launcher’s chevron, the controllers from the sequencer’s.
On iPad, the settings can also show the rack view at 110% of its normal size.
UNDO, and clearing things with it
UNDO does two jobs. Tapped on its own, it undoes your last step sequencer edit. Held down, it turns the next thing you tap into a clear button — the quickest way to wipe a clip, a pattern or a parameter’s automation.
Gestures & keys
- Tap UNDO
- Undoes the last step sequencer edit.
- Hold UNDO + TRACK PAD
- Clears the sequence on that track.
- Hold UNDO + CLIP
- Clears the clip.
- Hold UNDO + PATTERN
- Clears the pattern.
- Hold UNDO + NAV BAR
- Clears the selected bars.
- Hold UNDO + REC
- Resets the current clip: clears it, resets its settings and puts the sequencer into auto-advance entry.
- Hold UNDO + KNOB
- Clears all automation for that parameter.
- Hold UNDO + MORPH PAD
- Clears that morph.
- Hold UNDO + MUTE
- Unmutes and unsolos every track.
- Hold UNDO + PLAY
- Sends panic.
- Hold UNDO + MULTITRACK
- Clears every clip in the project.
- Swipe UNDO
- Latches UNDO down, so you can clear several things without holding it.
